📂 How to Move Folders/Files via the Integrated File Manager

Learn how to easily move files and folders directly inside the control panel’s built-in file manager – no FTP required.

🧩 Easy File Moving 🚀 Fast and Efficient 💾 No FTP Needed ⚙️ Directly in the Panel

The integrated file manager inside your control panel allows you to quickly move files and folders between directories. This is useful for organizing modpacks, plugins, configuration files, or world data – without having to use an external FTP client.

🪜 Step-by-step

  1. Log in to your control panel and select the server you want to manage.
  2. Click “Files” in the left-hand menu to open the file and folder overview.
  3. Select one or more files or folders that you want to move.
  4. Click “Move” in the top menu. A new window will open where you can specify the destination folder.
  5. Enter the path of the folder you want to move the file to, including the file name. This ensures the file doesn’t disappear during the move. Examples:
    /plugins/filename.jar
    or
    /world/datapacks/filename.jar
💡 Tip: If you want to move a file out of the current folder, use ../ before the path.
Example: ../plugins/filename.jar moves the file one level up into the plugins folder.
  6. Click “Move” to confirm. The files will be immediately moved to their new location.

💡 Tips

  • Too many files? Compress them into a .zip file, move it once, and then extract it afterward.
  • Double-check the path before moving – avoid changing system directories.
  • Moving large files may take a few seconds. Wait until the process finishes before refreshing the page.

⚠️ Important

  • Do not move server.properties, start.sh, or other core files from the root directory.
  • Be careful with the world folder if the server is running – stop the server first to avoid data corruption.
  • The destination folder must already exist – the file manager does not automatically create new directories.
